Gemini, which comes from the Latin word that mean twins, and governs the period from about May 21 and June 21. It is an air sign, and it is ruled by Mercury.

In Greek mythology, Gemini was associated with the myth of Castor and Polydeuces. They were the twin children of Leda that shared different fathers. Polydeuces was the son of Zeus, while Castor was the son of Tyndareus, king of Sparta. Castor was mortal, and when he died, Polydeuces refused immortality unless Castor could share it. Zeus allowed them to split their time in the heavens and Earth and to honour their brotherly love, he put an image of twins in the sky.
